Fallacy Number One:  New Jobs Created

Few new jobs are created and the low-paying minimum wage jobs are simply moved from San Diego to Oceanside, creating new strains on our housing inventory, traffic & medical services. These jobs don't pay for health insurance or provide an adequate living wage. How will these workers pay the high rents in the area?  Competition for housing for permanent residents also increases causing more housing pressures. Oceanside has a very low vacancy rent for rentals so where will these people live?  Will they be commuting in from Riverside County clogging the two-lane Highway 76?

Fallacy Number Two: There are plenty of places to stay in Oceanside  Studies have shown that this City is underbuilt for visitors with too few affordable hotel rooms and too few amenities in the downtown area to drawn them in.

Fallacy Number Three: The Chargers will Pay for Everything

Major costs will be incurred by the city for sewer, water and trash services, parking personnel, police, fire and emergency medical personnel, to say nothing of the overtime and pension costs that go with all the additional personnel for event days. The Chargers won't pay for any of that. Why? It's not required.
Is that what you're going to be thinking about when you are waiting for an ambulance or a police man? Or are you going to recall the tremendous siphoning off of general funds to support the stadium?
